For Cobalt Blue and Lebowsky, I finally did it!
Here's My Pride and Joy!
Orion in all his glory
Shot at 10:09pm, Temperature 37F December 22, 2012
Camera Canon FS200
1/15 second Auto Setting.

The Moon, shot at 11:16pm. I had to adjust my tripod's legs for this one and still hand tilt it back because the tripod wouldn't let the camera aim up any further. I'm glad I was wearing gloves and my hands weren't shaking.

Jupiter
I shot this at 11:26pm on December 22,2012
I zoomed in as much as I could and It's blurry but you can see Jupiter's Rings! I think he resembles Charlie Brown.

Shot at 11:17pm on December 22, 2012
Camera- Canon FS200 Digital Videocam, 50% zoom at 1/15 sec. on Automatic setting
I risked getting Hypothermia to take these shots. By the time I started bundling up and getting the camera, brewing homemade Hot Chocolate, found a flashlight that still worked, and a Candle just in case, the temp was 41 degrees. Hubby told me by the time I got my butt in gear it would be 39 degrees. I was still out there until it dropped to 35 degrees and my clothing was soaked by the dew. Any colder and I would have become encased in ice not to mention there was no place to sit down and wait for the moon to drop lower in the sky because all the chair cushions were wet and there is nothing worse than sitting in ice water.
I woke up at 3:30 and looked out my window and knew there were some better shots than the ones I got, but I'm a Native Florida Beach Girl, not a Snow Bird, so I jumped back into bed under my quilt.
I took 82 photos but You will have to be satisfied with these four pics.
PS; If you look close enough at the top of the moon, you will see what appears to be Green Cheese. I always wondered why people said the moon was made out of Green Cheese, now I know!
Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!
Love, Effie
